The American School of Warsaw provides an education reflecting its mission and core values.

Knowledge, skills, and understanding from internationally recognized academic standards inform the planning and implementation of a curriculum that is locally and globally relevant, engaging, significant, and challenging. Teaching, learning, and assessment is learner centered and developmentally appropriate as aligned with the International Baccalaureate Standards and Practices.

The school wide adopted academic standards are:

  • Common Core State Standards for Mathematics
  • Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts
  • AERO 2011 Standards for Science
  • AERO 2012 Standards for Social Studies
  • Shape America Standards for Physical Education and Health

The American School of Warsaw is a candidate school* for the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Primary Years Programme (PYP). The school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—commitment to a high quality, challenging, international education that the American School of Warsaw believes is important for its students. Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.

*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its three academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), or the Diploma Programme (ASW has been authorised to offer the IB Diploma programme since 1994).
