What Happens After You Submit Your Application?

Once we receive your completed application, our Admissions Committee carefully reviews it to determine whether your child qualifies for our program. Decisions are based on space availability and the priority rules of our Admissions Policy.

Review Process

  1. Application & Document Check
We verify that all forms and supporting documents are complete. If anything is missing, we will contact you promptly.
  2. Admissions Committee Review
Each application is reviewed individually and holistically, considering academic records, teacher questionnaires, and current grade placement.
  3. English Proficiency Assessment (if applicable)
Students entering Grades 9 (second semester) -  12 may be asked to complete a WIDA English assessment to determine language support needs. We will contact you if this is required.
  4. Learning Support Review (if applicable)
For students with identified learning needs, our Learning Support team reviews documentation to ensure appropriate accommodations. Additional information may be requested
  5. Follow-Up (if needed)
Occasionally, we may contact your family or your child’s current school to clarify details before a final decision is made.

Timeline & Notifications

  • Applications submitted by the priority deadline are reviewed first, giving your child early consideration.
  • All applications are reviewed in accordance with the Admissions Policy priorities, which determine the order in which offers are made.
  • Admissions decisions may include an enrollment offer or placement on a waiting list.
  • Once space permits, admissions decisions are made year-round.

How We Determine Grade Placement

  • Candidates for Pre-K3, Pre-K4, Kindergarten and Grade 1 will be placed strictly by age based on our Grade Placement Chart.
  • Placement in Grades 2 to 12 is determined by evaluating the student’s age, development, and previous school experience.

It is important that students have completed a full grade level (American system equivalent) before advancing to the next grade level. If a student has not completed a grade level when enrolling at ASW, he/she will be placed in the same grade level to ensure completion of that grade level. Any student’s course of study must be completed before he/she reaches his/her 21st birthday.

Acceptance & Enrolment Offer

If your child is offered a place at ASW, you will receive an enrolment offer by email through OpenApply. To secure your child’s spot, please complete the following steps:

To confirm enrolment, please complete the following by the deadline stated in the enrolment offer:

  1. Sign the Student Enrolment Agreement – sign the enrolment agreement electronically
  2. Complete the payment of the Registration/Deposit Fee – instructions are in your enrolment offer. Please refer to the Tuition Fees document for details.
  3. Submit the completed ASW Physical Examination Form.

Note: Only families who complete all three steps above will proceed to the next stage. Families who decline the enrollment offer or do not complete these steps will not continue in the admissions process.

Waiting List

If your child is placed on the waiting list, it may be due to the following reasons: class sizes, nationality limits, and spaces in certain programs (Learning Support) are limited as per our Admissions Policy.

If a space becomes available, the Admissions team will contact you directly with an offer.

Your application on the waiting list remains active for the upcoming semester or school year.
