ES Students Keep in Touch with Elderly Residents
A drawing made by a ASW student for a senior from Warsaw

The first twenty messages from ASW Elementary School students were delivered to residents at care homes around Warsaw just before Christmas. Some students used winter-inspired postcards created by the Upper School students, and others decided to make their own.

In the messages, students introduced themselves, shared where they are from, and talked about their favorite meals. The postcards were delivered with small edible gifts and were sponsored by the Legal Intervention Association.

The residents were thrilled to receive the postcards, and since then, ASW elementary students have been writing more letters and creating artwork for Warsaw’s elderly, for many of whom, the Covid lockdown has had a strong emotional impact.

We will be encouraging all of our students to write a letter and help us all to stay connected no matter what.
