ASW MUN Teams Shine at Milan and Berlin Conferences

The ASW Model United Nations (MUN) teams demonstrated exceptional diplomatic abilities by participating in two notable European conferences. They represented various nations and addressed pressing global issues.

ASMMUN in Milan

From November 13 to 15, an ASW delegation participated in the ASMMUN conference, hosted by the American School of Milan.

The team successfully represented Syria, Thailand, and the Philippines in various committees. Klara, one of our students, was selected to serve as Chair of the Office on Drugs and Crime Committee. Throughout the conference, all delegates exhibited exceptional preparation, knowledge, and diplomatic and collaborative skills.

Outside of the committee rooms, the students took the opportunity to explore Milan, visiting landmarks such as the Duomo, the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, and the Navigli district.

BERMUN in Berlin

Eleven students traveled to Berlin from November 19 to 22 for the 34th annual BERMUN conference. This year's theme was "Building a Rules-Based Order to Withstand Authoritarianism."

The ASW delegation represented Ukraine and Nicaragua. Augustas was selected as Ukraine's ambassador and delivered an outstanding speech at the BERMUN opening ceremony. Other students served in key leadership roles: Łucja was a Disarmament Committee Officer, Emilja was a World Trade Organization Officer, and Louis was a judge in the International Court of Justice. The remaining delegates actively participated in various committees, debating a wide range of global challenges.

During their time in Germany, the group visited several significant historical and cultural sites, including the Reichstag Building Dome, the Brandenburg Gate, and the Tränenpalast (Palace of Tears), which was a former border crossing between West and East Berlin.

We are incredibly proud of the preparation, dedication, and leadership demonstrated by all of our young diplomats at both conferences!
