Students Raise Funds in a Swimming Competition to Support Refugees

Venda, our 10th grader, put a great deal of effort into organizing a swimming competition for the HS students as a part of his Personal Project. The Personal Project is an opportunity for students to explore an area that motivates and interests them, set their own goals and choose a path on how to achieve those goals. Students create their own criteria for what success will look like for their project.

Venda met with many faculty and staff to learn about fundraising protocols and explored how to organize an event. He worked on marketing strategies and decided on a platform where each participant would pay a fee to compete in the tournament.  The proceeds collected were dedicated to purchase survival kits for the refugee children at the Polish-Belorussian border. Venda has collected more than a thousand PLN to purchase dried fruits, energy bars and hygienic items for the children there and their mothers. Congratulations and many thanks!
