"The Forest", a Collaborative Art Exhibition

Just before the fall break, our 6th graders, under the guidance of Ms. Julia Konieczna-Latos, our ES art teacher, took on a unique artistic challenge - creating abstract family trees. Their creations are not traditional genealogical charts, but rather intricate explorations of identity.

'Students were challenged to create an abstract family tree. They investigated compositional elements (line, color, texture) to represent identity markers of their family members,' explains Ms. Konieczna. 'The Forest is a collaborative installation featuring approximately 80 trees crafted by our 6th-grade students this year. It also incorporates the artistic contributions of our Middle School and High School Visual Arts students from last year,' she adds.
