Lech Walesa takes part in a panel discussion in the theater at the American School of Warsaw

ASW had the profound honor of welcoming the Nobel-prize winning leader of the Solidarity movement and first President of Poland after 1989, Lech Wałęsa, for a panel discussion with the Upper School on Monday.

Mr Wałęsa was introduced by the school director Jon Zurfluh, before answering questions from the panel composed of global politics teacher Mr James and high school student Iga, who arranged the visit as part of her Creativity Activity Service (CAS) Project, along with questions from students in the audience.

Mr Wałęsa spoke about his life and legacy, and emphasised the younger generation's role in shaping the future of our world.
