Robotics Team 'Inspires' in Bucharest

ASW HS Robotics team celebrate at the competition in Bucharest

The HS Robotics team, led by Stephen Miele, Stephen Sidaway and Ligita Stawarz, has returned from their CEESA tournament in Bucharest victorious!

Through working together, the 'Matrix Mechanix' won the Inspire Award, which is given to the team that "truly embodies the challenge of the program. The team that receives this award is a strong ambassador for FIRST-programs and a role model team. This team is a top contender for many other judged awards and is a gracious competitor. The Inspire Award winner is an inspiration to other teams, acting with gracious professionalism both on and off the playing field."

The winner of this award is invited to the FIRST TECH CHALLENGE competition in Detroit, Michigan. Congratulations to our Warriors! They are now looking for sponsors to help them get to Detroit - donate here (deadline for donations March 15th 2018).

The team also earned a 2nd place Design Award for their robotic design and programming and a 3rd place Control Award for their use of sensors and software.
