Board Appointments and Elections

At this time each year, the Board of Trustees (BoT) is seeking candidates for Trustees (U.S. citizens and Non-U.S. citizens) who will begin serving in the next academic school year starting in July. This process, overseen by the BoT Governance Committee, begins now with a call for applications for both appointment and self-nominations for election through a unified form. The link to our form is here:

The Board is currently seeking community members with experience in fields like facilities, fundraising, finance, law, development, and strategic planning. We are also seeking members with strong social networks within both ASW and our host community of Poland. Most importantly, the BoT needs parents who are committed to the values, mission, and vision of our community and the long-term well-being of our school and its students. This is a voluntary position.

The deadline for the appointment process are due by February 2, 2023 with the election process to follow with a self-nomination deadline of February 17th.

You can find more information about the BoT, including the composition of the board and qualifications at the following link:

We also have another round of aspiring board member training on March 2, 2023 to be virtually held starting at 6:00p via Zoom. You can sign up now (link below). You do not need to do the training to apply for an appointment or election, but it is highly recommended.

Friday Family Dinner

We had a wonderful gathering last Friday for our first Friday Family Dinner with more than 30 families in attendance.  Our chefs, Piotr Soliwoda and Marco Marengo, treated us to a wonderful menu, finishing with homemade ice cream enjoyed by all.  The evening was simple in content with table conversations enjoyed by all, including our Board of Trustees in attendance.  We especially enjoyed connecting with whole families together where children were also involved.  It was our first event of this nature, but it demonstrated what is possible in a comfortable setting where conversation and fellowship can develop through the evening.  Our next event will come up very quickly, so you'll have monthly opportunities according to our current plan.  Please watch eNotes for details, but the next Friday Family Dinner sponsored by the Board of Trustees is on February 10th.

The Year of the Rabbit

A shoutout to all of our community members who celebrate the Lunar Calendar.  On Sunday, we celebrate the first day of the Lunar New Year.  This year we move into the Year of the Rabbit.  If you want to know more, go HERE or HERE!
