Mid-Autumn Festival

I offer my hopes that those who celebrate it enjoyed the Mid-Autumn Festival last Saturday.  My family celebrated as always this 3000-year-old tradition by connecting with my wife's family in Guangzhou.  As you may know, it corresponds with the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar and is celebrated in many Southeast Asia and Eastern cultures.  Let me wish you luck and good fortune as we are now midway through the Year of the Tiger!

Vaccinations from WarsawMed

Vaccination interest sign-up is underway. Please click on the following link to let us know your interest in both Flu Vaccination and/or COVID vaccination (initial or boosters).  These numbers will help us plan firm dates.  More details are in the survey...

If you have questions, contact aswhealth@aswarsaw.org.

PTO BBQ

Please come this weekend to the PTO BBQ.  The baskets are wonderful, the plans expansive and all are destined to have a great time!

Board Meeting Recording

The board meeting was recorded and the video is posted on the Facebook ASW Parents group for your access.  Other locations are being developed in the parent portal and you'll find it there soon as well.

Accreditation

In other important news, ASW will be engaging in an on-going accreditation process this year.  Accreditation is key to any school’s constant pursuit of excellence. Its purpose is to assure the quality of an educational organization as well as to assist with the on-going improvement and transformation to ensure that learning for students is optimal. We are accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) as well as the International Baccalaureate (IB).

From Monday to Wednesday of next week, September 19th - 21st, we will be virtually welcoming a 3-member team from these agencies to engage in the first of two visits which launches an extended process of community self-reflection and self-assessment, reporting, and feedback for action toward our continued development and refinement.  We will be using the Collaborative Learning Protocol (CLP) designed to engage both organizations in an aligned process founded on the same philosophical principles. This includes meetings with various stakeholders in structured, virtual sessions to share the process and learn more about our community. For this first visit, only 6-10 individuals per group have been requested to represent students, teachers, parents, staff, leadership and the Board.  Once we enter the next phase of this accreditation process, we will be communicating with the community to engage more individuals who might be interested and willing to participate.  Please find a slidedeck that provides a bit more information.  Do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.
