Father’s Day

Father’s Day in the U.S. on June 16, in Poland on June 23.  This rounds out our celebration of parents and our recognition of the tremendous importance of parents and families.  Raising a child is the most significant and important accomplishment of human life.  While education is a close second, the commitment and engagement of family will always be the most important part of what any individual achieves and becomes in life.  It’s particularly important to remember this as we reflect on graduation and also consider the “moving up” events, celebrating our significant milestones.  These events suggest a child is now grown and ready to embark on the next phase of their journey, whether moving from elementary to middle years, or middle to high, or high to college and beyond.  We know that family connections and networks of support last well beyond the preparatory years.  But, there is something special and important about these critical steps and we embrace them with all the celebration we can muster.

The central theme remains.  Schools are places of extended parenting.  More than any other social system, we depend on parents and thrive on the opportunity to create a partnership in supporting your efforts raising children.  In part, when we say “Work Together,” we are talking about that important collaborative activity of the whole village raising a child.  Without you, we are nothing.  Together, we open wide the doorway to opportunity for your child. To all the parents of the ASW community, we honor and value you through all your contributions!  Celebrate Dads in the coming opportunities and thank you to all for our continued fellowship in this place called School!

Opportunities & Thanks

We have some final events coming up in the days ahead.  PTO has their final coffee this Friday and it is a time of thanks for all - the gratitude will be significant as we look back in order to look forward.  Following closely behind is our Spring Fair including a nice trunk sale, some bouncing opportunity, and community baseball.  What could be better than that!  See you all on Saturday!!
