Czerniakowski Lake Project

For this project, students plant trees, clean the lake area and put up bird houses to increase the bird population in the area. Students have worked on planting a willow valley to bring back extinct willow trees to the lake habitat. The Czerniakowskie lake is the largest water reservoir in Warsaw, and has been a nature reserve since 1987.

Students in the Product Design class are currently working with the lake's conservation charity to help raise awareness about environmental issues related to the lake. This is an example of how our Service Learning and Design programs can integrate in pursuit of common learning goals.
